The fit problem, in order

  1. Set chair height so your elbows rest roughly level with the desk when typing.
  2. If your feet no longer rest flat, the desk-chair pair is mismatched — a footrest fills the gap. That is its whole job.
  3. If instead your knees hit a drawer or tray, solve that first (see small-desk storage and the measurement guide).

Free checks before spending

  • A sturdy box or stack of books at the right height is a valid week-long trial.
  • Check your chair's lowest setting and the desk's height before blaming your body proportions.
  • Persistent pain is a health question, not an accessories question — see a qualified professional rather than buying your way through a product list.
